Ensuring that all our staff are aware of and value the importance of patient involvement and engagement in all our workstreams is central to the work the Communications and Engagement Team do.
One of the ways we empower our staff to recognise the benefits that patient involvement and engagement can bring is via training sessions led by our Engagement Manager and our Equality and Inclusion Business Partner from our Commissioning Support Unit.
The training has focused on what is patient and public involvement, why should we do it, understanding our Health Forum and how and why staff can engage with the group and training on equalities and the need to consider equalities issues and impacts.
