The Care Home Quality Improvement Team is dedicated to enhancing the quality of care delivered in nursing and residential care homes across Halton and Warrington with an NHS contract by working with nursing and residential and supporting staff and managers to achieve the optimum levels of care delivery. This is achieved through monitoring and providing support and signposting resources.

This role is carried out in partnership with our Continuing Healthcare Team, Local Authority Care Quality and Service Improvement teams and the Care Quality Commission.

Our work is underpinned by the service specification and standards set out within the contract, the Care Act 2014 and The Mental Capacity Act 2005, supported by National Guidance including: National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, The Nursing and Midwifery Council, Social Care Institute for Excellence, Skills for Care and others.

What does this mean in practice?

We measure the quality of the care delivered to identify areas of good practise and where improvements can be made – working in partnership with the care home staff and providers we then provide support as necessary to achieve improvement goals.

We aim to promote innovation, sharing of information and best practice, highlight local developments and networking opportunities for independent care sector staff.
